Healing

The acknowledgment of our weakness is the first step in repairing our loss. --Thomas a Kempis

Matthew 11:28-30 (The Message)

image

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

Galatians 2:19-21

Through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me; and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.

Live Passionately

Choosing to live passionately is to live on the edge of discovery and adventure again. It requires both daring trust and humble respect. Jeff Imbach

Rescuing

"rescue |ˈreskyoō|: to save." However, to rescue someone you love from emotional pain may not necessarily be saving them, but might merely be postponing the glorious inevitable - growth through struggle!

Life's Journey

image

The purpose of life's journey is to live relationally with God so that His Love can be poured into us, by the Holy Spirit. We were created by Love, for Love and to Love. --Renee Brunette

God Likes You

image

We've all heard God loves us, but for some that's become a cliche. Maybe a better realization is that God actually likes us. To like someone is to enjoy their company! So know this, God enjoys your company!!!!!

One Thing

All of Life comes down to just one thing, and that's to know You oh Jesus, and to make You known! --Charlie Hall

Father/father

image

We often have a mistaken idea of Who our Father God is simply because we still see Him through the eyes we had as a child who only saw our earthly father.

Identity

image

“Whose” are you is more important than who you are. We often identify ourselves by what we do or how well we do. But when we embrace Who we belong to, we can do or not do anything and still be somebody pretty special!

Renee Brunette

Renee Brunette, Director of Transformed By Christ Ministries, is a minister and counselor with over twenty years experience. However, it has been her personal life experiences that God has used to press her into Him and transform her life.

At age three, Renee was orphaned when both her parents were killed in an auto accident.  Her brother was sent to live with their paternal grandparents while Renee stayed with her maternal grandmother.  Growing up without a dad led to feelings of insecurity and she sought to meet her need for love and approval through her relationships with boyfriends and, eventually, husbands.  Her childhood dream was to get married and have a family of her own, so that she would never feel unloved and alone again.  At age seventeen, she married a deeply troubled young man who was haunted by his memories of Vietnam and by the loss of his father to alcoholism.  When their daughter, Tammy, was born, Renee’s spiritual journey began.  A new mother at age eighteen, she was overwhelmed with feelings of inadequacy, shame and depression.  Her husband, on the other hand, drowned his guilt and pain in alcohol, leaving her to feel rejected and alone once again.

What Renee thought would bring security and fulfillment only brought more emotional pain. At one of her darkest points, Renee contemplated taking her own life.  It was at that point she began to seek God for the answer to her feelings of emptiness.  He used her emotional pain to draw her to Christ so that she could, eventually, come to know the Father who had always loved her more than anyone ever could or ever would.

Later on, when experiencing difficulties in her second marriage, Renee sought counseling at Scope Ministries International.  It was there she was helped to see the Father for who he really is and came to know and experience her true identity in Christ.

After completing counseling, Renee entered Scope’s counselor training program. She then served on their staff for sixteen years, the last four of which was as Director of Counseling.  As Director, she authored the workbook Be Transformed, which was used in small group counseling. This workbook continues to be one of Scope’s primary ministry tools and has been translated in several languages.  While at Scope, Renee was involved in Be Transformed conferences in Africa and Mexico.  She has also ministered in Russia, Honduras and Belize.

Renee married Steve Brunette in 2000.  Together they have three children and four grandchildren. They enjoy life in the country, just South of Crescent, Oklahoma. In 2002 Renee joined the staff of LifeChurch.tv where she served as Pastoral Care Counselor. During her six years at LifeChurch.tv, Renee trained small group leaders, mentored lay counselors and wrote a ministry training curriculum.

Renee says one of the highlights of her time at LifeChurch.tv was the relationships she formed in her LifeGroup.  These loving and supportive friends were instrumental in helping her launch TBC Ministries. Today, they are having so much fun doing ministry together as they continue to learn what it means to live loved.
