Healing

The acknowledgment of our weakness is the first step in repairing our loss. --Thomas a Kempis

Matthew 11:28-30 (The Message)

image

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with Me and work with Me--watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.

Galatians 2:19-21

Through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me; and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.

Live Passionately

Choosing to live passionately is to live on the edge of discovery and adventure again. It requires both daring trust and humble respect. Jeff Imbach

Rescuing

"rescue |ˈreskyoō|: to save." However, to rescue someone you love from emotional pain may not necessarily be saving them, but might merely be postponing the glorious inevitable - growth through struggle!

Life's Journey

image

The purpose of life's journey is to live relationally with God so that His Love can be poured into us, by the Holy Spirit. We were created by Love, for Love and to Love. --Renee Brunette

God Likes You

image

We've all heard God loves us, but for some that's become a cliche. Maybe a better realization is that God actually likes us. To like someone is to enjoy their company! So know this, God enjoys your company!!!!!

One Thing

All of Life comes down to just one thing, and that's to know You oh Jesus, and to make You known! --Charlie Hall

Father/father

image

We often have a mistaken idea of Who our Father God is simply because we still see Him through the eyes we had as a child who only saw our earthly father.

Identity

image

“Whose” are you is more important than who you are. We often identify ourselves by what we do or how well we do. But when we embrace Who we belong to, we can do or not do anything and still be somebody pretty special!

Cheryl Terrell

Cheryl is learning what it is to live in God’s amazing grace!  She came from a protestant background and grew up with two loving parents and two younger sisters.  Her mom, who really loved the Lord, is now in Heaven.  She married her college sweetheart and has three grown children, two sons and a daughter, and a young granddaughter and grandson.

During her adult life she was faced with problems never encountered before and for which she was totally unprepared.  Loved ones lived in addictions.  Too embarrassed to seek outside help, she had no idea how to handle except to pray.  However, her perception of the Word was distorted.  She believed that if she “performed” her part, God was obligated to answer her prayers.  After all, His Word is full of promises.

Everything really fell apart in 1996 when she lost her husband to cancer.  She felt that either God had let her down or she just didn’t have strong enough faith.  She questioned whether He really even cared or answered prayer.  After a few years, she was persuaded by a friend to go to a class called Be Transformed introduced by Renee Brunette.  Ever since then, God has been doing just that in her life.  He has been exposing lies in her belief system and replacing them with His Truth!  He is transforming her life.  He is bringing her into relationships with fellow followers of The Way which are reflections of the relationship that He desires to have with her.  He is showing her how to be authentic rather than fake.  She felt like she was always on the outside looking in with her church groups.  She always felt as though she was not “good enough,” knowing that her home life was in shambles and seeing all those “perfect looking families” and feeling hers didn’t meet the standard.  He is showing her that she is totally loved and that He doesn’t compare her to others, so she can live free in His love.

It is Cheryl’s hearts desire to share where God has taken her and live in His Truth and Love.  This journey is not always comfortable, but she realizes that God is taking her places that are for her good.  It’s ok to be a Christian and have problems and share them with others.  In fact, that is God’s desire that we are there for each other in relationships where we don’t have to pretend.  She knows now that we are totally accepted and is eager to pass this hope on to others who are living in their own secret shame.

Ever since being involved with Be Transformed, Cheryl has been hungry for God’s Truth.  She has been in numerous classes and support groups and has been open to God to show her His plan for her life.  That now includes sharing God’s grace and mercy with others going through similar journeys.  What a blessing to live in God’s amazing grace!

Cheryl has also studied The Life, Gracewalk, Boundaries, Safe People, co-dependency and is currently going through Spiritual Coaching with Renee Brunette.
